MINI Electric has a range of up to 234 km, but this will vary according to driving habits and conditions. How you drive can make a big difference to your available range and how quickly your charge is used. Here are a few tips that can help to extend your range.

FOOT UP. CHARGE BATTERY.

Regenerative braking is the name of the game. When you take your foot off the accelerator, the energy from the car decelerating is used to charge the battery – so you effectively recharge while you drive. Ideally you can do most of your driving without touching the actual brake pedal.

CHARGE TACTICALLY. 

Your battery performs best and will last longer if kept between 20% and 80% capacity. When below 20% or above 80%, the battery will have to work harder to prevent degeneration. So to help ensure your battery lasts as long as possible, unless you are in for a longer ride, try to charge just to 80%.

MODE YOUR MOOD.

Go green. Go mean. Go somewhere in between. Want to take things easy, then just switch over to GREEN + mode to get as many km per charge as possible. This also switches off the non-vital functions which use battery power. Fancy more responsive steering and acceleration, then switch to SPORT mode. For the best of both worlds, just stay in the MID mode for a happy driving medium.

Smoother acceleration snd slower speeds enable your MINI to save energy and save battery life. So while you should always have fun, be smooth and meet it halfway. Take it easy and try not to put pedal to the metal too often.
